Oct. 3rd, 2019 06:13 pmI spend so much of my life compartmentalizing the things I like because they're not the normal things other people like, and hiding them away or apologizing profusely for them before I get to the tiny crumb that might be ever-so-slightly redeemable to polite society.
("Hey, I like this thing, but don't worry, I'll spend twenty minutes telling you why it's terrible so you can pretend that I think Goodthink and I'm allowed to interact with you.")
And it occurs to me that the things I seem to think are important in my life don't always line up with everyone else's opinions, and it is Right and Good that they don't care if something matters to me, because it isn't "normal".
And I'm hiding this by posting it to the social media no-one reads.
