This is a collection of 100+ comic book trivia quizzes, many of which originally appeared in the AOL “Anything Goes” chatroom. It also contains the “Fun Facts to Know and Tell” that appeared with each quiz, and a bit of the history of both the Answer Man columns, the chatroom and the quizzes themselves.
I actually not only remember many of these trivia quizzes from their initial appearances, I remember coming up with a bunch of the questions! Many of the questions about Vertigo titles and then-current superhero storylines (especially things that replaced earlier events, like the post Zero Hour Legion reboot) were my suggestions, because my dad wasn’t reading those books.
Granted, if you’re not into comic books, you probably won’t buy a book of comics trivia quizzes, which is what this is. But I will point out that my father-in-law, who isn’t into comics at all, found the Fun Facts to Know and Tell rather amusing. Perhaps we should goad the Answer Man into writing a book of more generalized trivia and fun facts?
