Random Fitbit Observations
Jan. 7th, 2018 04:35 pm• I easily make my step goals on days when I A) walk to work or B) do a lot of cooking. Apparently I pace around the kitchen a lot. Or it’s decided that chopping vegetables is steps.
• The Fitbit gets confused by things like strollers (it decided I was biking) and taking naps in cars (it just had no idea).
• When I log outdoor exercise, I need to actually “start” a few minutes before I start moving, because it takes some time to get the GPS signal from my phone and can decide that I’ve covered much less ground than I actually have.
• The Fitbit seems to lose track of the fact that it’s supposed to be delivering alerts from my phone and just…not. For a few hours.
• Because of the “250 steps per hour” log, I now know that it’s about 25 steps from my desk to the men’s room, and 100 steps from my desk to the cafeteria.
• Also, I’m 90% certain I was awake for a while around 5:30am this morning. The Fitbit begs to differ.
