Star Wars: The Force Awakens

From the guy who brought you the most Star-Wars-y Star Trek movies ever, it’s the most Star-Wars-y Star Wars movie ever!

Overall: The prequel trilogy is what happened when Lucas took Star Wars in a direction he thought was best. This is what happens when a New Hope fanboy takes over. It looks, feels and has beats just like the original movie, and I’m totally down with that. And hey, women and minorities in starring roles! Woo!

SLEEP!

Since mid-fall, I had been getting increasingly tired, lethargic and irritable. More caffeine, more needing to power through days, fewer spoons for important things. Then it occurred to me that this coincided both with my change in schedule / increased appetite, but also with my going on a daily dose of Zyrtec as directed by the allergist.

As I hadn’t actually noticed that much impact to my regular allergies from the trial, I decided to drop it the week before Christmas. Then I had some of my best nights of sleep in months and felt great. Turns out, that even taking it in the morning, the Zyrtec was really screwing up my sleeping.

We’ll see how it works out when I’m back into my regular routine, but given that I made it through half a week of stay-at-home parenting just fine since then, I think I’m going to back to just taking allergy medication on an “as needed” basis.
