Japan produced RPGs like American companies produced platformers: Frequently and often badly. Very, very few of them made it stateside during the SNES era, though most of the good ones eventually got remade, fan-translated, or both. (Also a bunch of the crappy ones, see: Villgust, Dual Orb 2.) I had downloaded a big collection of the fan-translated ones a ways back, though I only added the ones I had a particular interest in (usually from a website review) to my backlog. It occured to me to go through the rest of the collection and get a sense for what was there, in case anything else was worth adding to said backlog.

My backlog offically includes: The Magical Land of WOZZ [Translation Corporation], Bahamut Lagoon [DeJap, Neill Corlett, Tomato], Treasure of the Rudras [Aeon Genesis], and Live-a-Live [Aeon Genesis]. I've pretty much determined that I want to play through all of those.

A dozen other games that I looked at. )
