This is an Artifex Mundi point-and-click adventure game, just like the many, many of their games that I played on Steam. I turned down the Humble Bundle pack of these—I have two dozen such games in my Steam library that cost me all of $6—but for free, I thought I’d check out how the Android versions of the games differed.

The biggest problem I found was the small screen size. You can pinch to zoom, which is very useful when looking for hidden objects, but there’s still a resolution issue, especially when I compare a 7” tablet with a 15” laptop monitor.

Other than that, it’s pretty much everything I’ve come to expect from Artifex Mundi: The plot is a predictable round of horror tropes. The puzzles are decent and it’s got both a recharging hint system and puzzle skips (though you get achievements for not using them). There’s a bonus chapter with a few more puzzles.

Overall: It’s nice that this is portable, and they ported the controls very well, but specifically for hidden-object puzzles, I’d rather by playing on a much larger screen. The better resolution makes all the difference.
