So, a random thing I’ve been doing with my time in 2013 has been running Let’s Plays on the Talking Time board. I inadvertently got myself on a theme of playing Game Boy games from my youth, so I decided to run with it.

The first full LP I did was Final Fantasy Legend 3, which got off to a rocky start and was (at least partially) and excuse for me to replay the game in a style I hadn’t before. It got a good response, though.

From there, I decided that the two Rolan’s Curse games didn’t get enough love and needed to be shown off. The results came out well.

When they relaxed the rules on how frequently you could start a new LP, I put up Gargoyle’s Quest, which apparently inspired someone else to LP the other two games in the series. I felt that all three games deserved to have screenshot LPs available, so this was a net win for me.

My most involved LP was The Final Fantasy Legend, which involved editing together my screenshots and writing fanfiction around the game’s events. I’m rather proud of it.

In an effort to do something less involved after that, I tried Kid Dracula, which ended up with me also playing the fan-translated Famicom game that inspired the Game Boy version so I could catalogue the differences.

And now I’m currently doing an interactive LP of The Sword of Hope.

Future projects I’m considering include Final Fantasy Legend 2 (to finish out the series), Great Greed (if someone else doesn’t beat me to it), and the original Super Mario Land (with a twist).
