Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

Before the events of Final Fantasy 7, a SOLDIER 1st Class named Genesis goes rogue, and several of Shinra’s best men are dispatched to find him. This is in the midst of a war with Wutai, of course; and dealing with both of these reveals a giant conspiracy of terrible experiments. Spiky hair and giant swords abound.

Overall: It’s a fun, if repetitive time-waster with a decent story and good gameplay. Generally recommended for fans of action-rpgs.

Les Misérables (2012 film)

This musical was the second Broadway show I ever saw, the first grown-up cassette tape I owned, and the first musical I memorized every word of. I may have some biases. First and foremost, I did really like the movie. I have lots of criticisms and comments, but overall, I think this was a really well-done film. I pick because I love, as it were.
