Oh, right, that.

I can't possibly be mad at anyone for forgetting my birthday today, as I keep losing track of it myself. There were a number of posts on my Facebook wall this morning, and I couldn't figure out why they would be there until I read them. My father called me first thing in the morning, and I briefly worried that something was wrong because why would he call me at that time of day? By the time my mother called, I wasn't caught off-guard, but then it became clear that someone had told my coworkers because they kept wishing me happy birthday and then a card and cookies appeared on my desk while I was getting tea. And I kept needing to think through the "oh right, it's my birthday" reaction.

Sorry, it's apparently one of those mornings. I suspect I'll be caught off-guard when Jethrien gives me presents tonight, too.
