Correction: My mother's accident was on her motor scooter, not her bicycle. Clarity in details is not our strong suit around here. At least it explains how she could make quite the mess out of her leg that she did.
She had surgery yesterday, now she's got plates and screws ("Hunh?" "What?" "I have a robo-leg.") and a whole lotta morphine to pass the time. She'll be in the hospital for at least a few more days (until she can manuver up three stairs by herself) and is not terribly interested in visitors. We spoke this morning, and I passed on all of the well-wishes.
In unrelated news, I have an annoyly swollen and sore throat. It's probably just allergies coupled with stress, but I'm annoyed with my doctor, who is out of the office Thursdays and Fridays, not allowed to share patients with the other doctors in the office, and called me back to tell me to take some over-the-counter Claratin. Tried that, didn't help. If this gets worse tonight/tomorrow, I'm not waiting until Saturday when you deign to be in the office, thankyouverymuch.
