First Post

I suspect everyone has one of these: The pointless-except-to-establish-the-existance-of-the-journal first post. I don't expect to update much; I'm setting this up mostly for the friends list. And the ability to post snarky comments as myself. Blame Victor for talking me into it.

In any case, as a reward for those bothering to read this: If you can tell me where my icon comes from, I'll give you a cookie.

I'm going to go with Final Fantasy N, for N<3.

I get your cookies anyway, because we a share a fridge.

You're remarkably close--it's modified from a combination of two character sprites from FF2j. But I think the more important question here is why I made it and what it was originally used for. If Kate or Craig reads this, they'll get it.

Oh, well I had figured that it's from your RPG/comic. The name of which I have unfortunately forgotten because I have a memory like a leaky sieve. Does Craig have an LJ?

The comic (which lasted 40 strips and was up for about a year) was called Palette-Swap. I've still got all of the original finished strips saved, though I doubt anyone besides me would have a pressing desire to read them.

Craig does not, to my knowledge, have an LJ.

Oh, come now. You wouldn't say anything bad about me, would you?

And I know it's nothing dirty, because I am not a character from Harry Potter, Buffy or Smallville.

Welcome! Now livejournal can suck your life force, and I mean that in a literal and totally positive way.

I suppose Victor beat me to the punch, but I saw your comment in Melanie's journal and had to offer my own guess. It looks like a cross between the FF2 Karateka and the FF1 Black Belt, except the cape is a deeper blue than I think either of them had, and I don't know that either one of them had a goatee either.

That's decent guessing--It's actually a combination of Guy and Josef from FF2j; Guy had the same color scheme and hair design as FF1 Thief and several FF3j characters. Josef had the cape that we later saw of the FF3j Karateka, and was that game's barehanded fighter. And I added the beard myself, as I had a beard at the time I was creating my sprite comic.
