The Twos
On Monday, ARR drove me nuts trying to help me bake a birthday cake, but then was wonderfully well-behaved and sang happy birthday to daddy ("cha cha cha").
Yesterday, ARR and I had a very pleasant multi-stop walk home that abruptly turned into a festival of "No" when we arrived; and his refusal to eat dinner or sit in his own chair (rather than my lap) got me so irritated I had to leave the room and let Jethrien take over.
Today he came home with a certificate from daycare that he had successfully gone in the potty six times; every time he went in.
And then he had to be put in time-out during dinner for throwing his chili.
I'm led to believe this sort of mood whiplash will continue for quite some time in my parenting career.
